Marco Pronovost is a Montréal-based curator, choreographer, writer, cultural mediator and educator. For more than twenty years, he has developed a distinctive practice at the intersection of research, artistic creation and cultural mediation. His expertise connects critical thinking, artistic experience and fieldwork, with sustained attention to people and the conditions that enable their participation.

His leadership takes shape in the initiatives he founds, the teams he brings together and the resources he develops. Founder and editor-in-chief of moveo, he created Interstice to support emerging voices in dance writing and contributed to Tangente’s collective curatorial team from 2018 to 2026. Since 2015, his work at Place des Arts has brought together aesthetic education, adapted arts and training for teaching artists and cultural mediators. He also develops tailored collaborations with schools, community organizations and cultural teams.

The author of Art et développement and co-editor of Curating Live Arts, he contributes to publications including TURBA, exploring relationships among artists, artworks, audiences and communities. His many guides, educational materials, evaluation tools and training programmes translate research into practical resources to explore and share.

With a background in anthropology, development studies and law, he continues to enrich his practice through teaching and international exchanges. Across his different roles, he holds a shared conviction: the arts can open spaces for attention, critical thinking and connection. His work is to create those conditions alongside the people who bring them to life.
